Holding a place
Choosing a group holds a place for a short while so that you can pay. If payment does not arrive within that window the place goes back on sale automatically, and you can start again if it is still free.
What a booking covers
The assessment itself, and what the organiser's joining instructions say it includes. Travel, accommodation and anything you bring yourself are not included. No VAT is added: the fee you are quoted is the fee you pay.
Cancelling
You can cancel your own booking at any time from the manage page, and you should do it as early as you can — the place then goes to someone on the waiting list.
Cancel more than 8 weeks before the assessment and 70% of the fee comes back. Between that and 4 weeks before it, 35% comes back. Inside that, none does — by then the assessor, the verifier and the range are committed and the cost has been incurred whether you come or not. This follows the BASC scale, counted from the date of the assessment.
None of this affects the rights you have by law.
If the assessment cannot go ahead
If the organiser cancels or moves the date, you are offered a place on the new date or your money back. That choice is yours.
The result
The assessment is run to the awarding body's standard and the result is theirs, not the organiser's. A booking buys the assessment, never a pass.
Your details
Names and dates of birth are collected because the awarding body registers each candidate, and are shared with them for that purpose. Nothing is sold or used for anything else. You can ask for your details to be removed at any time; the record that a booking was made and paid for is kept, because that is an accounting record.
